CUT ART foundation
CUT ART Foundation is a non-profit organization established in Latvia in 2017. It brings together
art enthusiasts and curious minds, offering a unique blend of creativity from Latvian and
international artists, ranging from emerging talents to renowned legends. The foundation
organizes a wide variety of cultural projects aimed at supporting artists and carries out initiatives
with an educational focus, fostering the development of the creative community.
CUT ART Award
The CUT ART AWARD is the annual prize aimed at supporting and developing the careers of
emerging artists from Latvia. One of the main goals of the foundation is to promote and develop
the artistic careers of young artists, as well as to establish collaboration and partnership
relationships between educational institutions, museums, galleries, and visual arts organizations
worldwide. The foundation also aims to integrate Latvian artists of all levels – from emerging to
established masters – into the global art market. The foundation pays special attention to
supporting Latvian artists, providing them with a unique opportunity to participate in the "CUT
ART AWARD" competition.
Philippe Halsman Museum
CUT ART Foundation has launched an initiative to create the Philippe Halsman Museum, which is
currently in the preparation stage. Known worldwide for iconic works such as Albert Einstein's
tongue-out portrait and Salvador Dalí's flying cats, Halsman’s contributions to photography are
legendary, though the man himself remains less celebrated.
The mission of the museum is to honor and preserve Philippe Halsman’s legacy by presenting his
pioneering work and life story, while also emphasizing Latvia’s role in global cultural heritage. The
museum will function as an educational and cultural hub, offering interactive lectures,
masterclasses, and exhibitions to inspire photographers, art enthusiasts, and the broader public.
